Social networking sites have a ever-increasing influence on the recruitment process, and it has been suggested that this trend could lead to a reduction in agency income in the future. A survey by CareerBuilder.co.uk today revealed that employers and clients are increasingly screening potential candidates’ profiles on social networking sites before deciding whether or not to hire them. The survey of more than 450 clients found that 53% used social networking sites to research job candidates, while 12% plan to do so.
