The Service Providers Association (SPA) formed in 2008 has rebranded as the Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA) but who are they?
It was originally formed with an aim to improving standards in the industry and they want to work with Treasury and HMRC to implement measures to achieve their goal. FCSA members stake their reputation on outstanding customer service and spotless compliance.
The association and its members provide employment, payroll tax, accountancy and administrative support and advice to contractors and freelancers within the marketplace.
FCSA members each undergo an independent review from one of the ‘big four’ accountancy practices, with the review documentation being voluntarily submitted to HMRC. This sets the standard for professional compliance and proving that they work legally and ethically at all times.
FCSA’s chairman Stuart Davis says: “The rebrand and release of the code are vitally important steps forward for the Association, demonstrating our commitment to remove confusion in this complex and vibrant sector, as well as our ongoing growth and development. All of the FCSA’s work is designed to benefit our members, their customers and the industry as a whole, which is why we decided to take the unique step of making the code of conduct publicly available.”
